Last Assignment

1. I think my view of the media has become more cynical. I had the mentality of question everything the media does, and this class has enforced that. You have to be aware of what is being said and that the media doesn't always report the actual whole truth.

2. To me the media was TV, ads, radio, magazines, and newspapers.

3. I think everything is media, because everything conveys a message. Whether people are aware of it or not everything you wear or do conveys a certain message.

4. I would definitely suggest this class to others it would be better if it was more open and not just a capstone class for peace and conflict, that way more people could take it.

5. I felt the strong points in the class was the discussion and the different blog assignments. They gave many different view points and let us discover the media and its different forms. It lets us find out for ourselves the different kinds of media coverage and the different coverage in different countries.

6. I can't really say there was a weak point I really enjoyed this class. Not having a set schedule could be a weak point, but I liked not knowing everything was laid out and not knowing what we would be discussing.

7. I think I am more likely then before to question the things I see on TV and read.

8. I would have said the Colbert Report and those kind of shows, but since we are discussing them on Monday there isn't anything I can think of.

9. No, I don't think I was really aware that what we did was media. I should have as the class went on it was more apparent, but it just didn't come off that way because it was a class and it was interesting. Looking back it's clearly obvious that everything has to do with media and what we did or didn't talk about was up to you and you had the ability to share what you wanted to just like the media can. We were media because we brought different view points and different pieces of news to the class and we all had our own opinions. Again at the time I didn't see it as media, but now I do.
